Happy Birthday Illa!

Posted by on Sep 11 2008 | Family

We tried to find a good e-card for you but all of the ones available out there are really cheesy, so Bubbie, Joelle and I thought a nice impromptu video from your number one fan would be the most appropriate birthday card!  Here it is – we love you, and Happy Birthday!!!

A little footwear plug here

Posted by on Sep 05 2008 | Uncategorized

I know it is no secret that I still do some work for the Pedestrian Shops in Boulder.  I can’t believe it’s been about 7 years!  Gee whiz.  Anyways, it’s been great and they are great folks to work with.

We have redone our site, and we’re trying to work on their rankings, and I am (I’ll admit) using this post as a shameless plug for a particular shoe to see if we can get it more search visibility.   I like Patagonia products, so today’s plug will be for the Patagonia Bagley .  A cool looking shoe that has kind of a retro look to it.  Anyways, a shoe I would wear.

So that’s my shameless product plug for the day.

OK – I usually don’t like to get into politics or anything negative on my blog, but the following clip is political, scary, and funny.  I just couldn’t pass on it.

Undistracted Energy

Posted by on Aug 26 2008 | Uncategorized, Woo Woo

Another good one from the DailyOm.com

Undistracted Energy
Pure Thoughts

If we make no effort at all, our thoughts usually scatter in a vast array of directions. They start and stop and move in surprising ways from one second to the next. If we try to follow our thoughts without controlling them, we will be amazed at how truly inconsistent they are. Yet, if we apply our minds to a specific task, especially one that interests us, they gather together and allow us to focus our attention, creating great power and energy. This is what is known as pure thought, because it is undistracted.

The law of attraction—like attracts like—influences all energy, including our thoughts, and this is what makes pure thought so potent. Our undistracted thoughts create a powerful magnet that draws similar energy into our vibrational field. As a result, the longer we are able to hold positive thoughts in our minds, the more powerful the positive energy around us becomes. We don’t need to focus on action and controlling so much when we are surrounded by energy that draws what we want toward us. We can simply respond to the opportunities that naturally come our way. When this is the essence of our experience, we can go with the flow, knowing that we will be okay.

If pure thought is a body, it is our emotions that supply the heart that can really bring it to life. Our thoughts and feelings exist in relation to one another, and they form a feedback loop through which they communicate and empower each other. When we hold a thought in our mind without being distracted, we have achieved pure thought. When we have a positive emotional response to that thought, we enable it to dance and move and breathe itself into existence.

Facebook and Tucson

Posted by on Aug 26 2008 | Friends

I recently opened a facebook account just to see what the hype was all about.   It was amazing that almost immediately people from way back in my distant past started contacting me.  A pleasant surprise so far.

I have had a few friend requests from folks in Tucson (I recently added an assisted living facilities Tucson page on a site that I do a little work for) that I may never have thought of again had they not contacted me through facebook.

I have several friends from when I worked at the Arizona Inn in Tucson who have probably changed names by now (thorough marriage) or that I have just lost touch with that I’d like to say hello to.  Maybe they’ll find me on facebook.

Anyways, so far a pretty good experience.

I did the test on this site here to find out my life expectancy, and it said 94.   I can live with that, so to speak!

I like Journey

Posted by on Jul 20 2008 | Amazing

I do like Journey even though most people would tell me to buy a welcome mat to the year 2008.  They have a new singer, and his story is quite amazing.   See the video….

Great to see the Bergs

Posted by on Jul 20 2008 | Friends

A friend of mine that I have known and been friends with since we were both riding big-wheels together in Flagstaff, Arizona over 30 years ago came through town last night and we had a really nice time meeting their “new” 21 month old son Tyler.   Jeff comes through Denver about every year and I am always really glad that we can get together.  I have a lot of respect for Jeff and Kathy – hauling 3 small (adorable) kids on a road trip from Arizona to South Dakota, and then Kansas and back.    We went and had a really nice dinner and and microbrew last night.  It was really great seeing them!
