Coaching & Consulting for Architectural & Interiors Photography

A recent client of mine, who I learned is also a high-end, very respected professional photographer said to me “Your technical skills are off the charts.”
That was one of the highest compliments I have gotten in a long time.
I do believe that photographing “spaces” such as architecture, luxury home interiors or even real estate photography is one of the most challenging niches in all of photography, and demands one of the highest level of technical skills and equipment familiarity of all categories of photography.
In the 25+ years I have been earning a living as a photographer, I’ve done almost every type you can imagine. From my humble beginnings doing product photography for a small (but popular) store in Boulder, Colorado, to photographing Senior Care facilities for many years – as well as weddings, portraits, sports – you name it, I’ve captured it.
To me, however, photographing a home, a commercial space, or capturing the beautiful styling and work of an interior designer has proven to be the most challenging and hard to learn.
I have been photographing architecture, interiors and commercial spaces full-time for over 10 years. Before that I had a long run of building up to full-time, and learning the craft.
I am available for coaching and consulting via phone, Facetime or even in-person (do you want to join me on a shoot)? I have coached budding photographers in-person and remotely, and I can help you too.
How I can help you with your Photography Skills and Knowledge
I’ve taken to learning the craft of photography very seriously, and my “internal motto” has always been to “become the expert” as much as I possibly can. There are a lot of phenomenal photographers out there, and they all reach their heights by putting in their “10,000” hours and then some.
Do you need help with:
- Understanding great camera settings for architecture, interiors or real estate photography
- The best gear and lenses that I believe you need to get the job done, and gear that you can probably do without
- Building your business and clientele (it’s not easy and there is a lot of competition)
- Lighting for interior photography, from flambient (not my preferred) or to a more artistic “editorial or interior design” style (preferred)
- Workflow on-site, and in post-production
- Composition
- How to process photos, layer-masking, and color correction and accuracy
- Photographing large commercial spaces
- Understanding Photoshop or Lightroom
- Photographing “Tethered”
- Twilight/Dusk photography
- Videography
- Drone photography or getting your FAA Part 107. I have been flying drones for almost 10 years including FPV
- and anything in-between!
Additionally, if you are local to the Denver/Boulder area, I am open to having photographers join me (or shadow me) on a shoot.

What I can’t help you with
If you are a photographer who is solely interested in HDR, or automated-processing type-photography, I am probably not the coach or consultant for you. There are endless numbers of those “turn-and-burn” types out there and yes, although there is a market for it, it’s not what I do and is not what interests me.
I am interested in working with photographers who are interested in pushing the limits on learning the craft, and producing the absolutely highest quality work possible.
As they say, if you do great work, the business will find you.
That’s been my experience.
Please CONTACT ME if you are interested in a coaching or photography consulting session with me.
